Opti-Forms design engineering and manufacturing operation provides precise electroformed and optical products to the lighting, aerospace, military, industrial and opto-electronics markets.

Electroforming technologies are highly specialized electroplating processes used to grow freestanding precise and repeatable metal parts and structures for a variety of performance driven products.

Opti-Forms optical reflector products are manufactured to the highest tolerances for maximum physical and operational performance.  We can easily customize nearly any stock or custom electroform to meet your system specifications from ultraviolet through the visible spectrum and into the infrared region in addition to your non-optical mechanical assemblies.

Our integrated operation can supply you with the application of a large selection of thin film coatings for these products, utilizing electro-deposition and vacuum deposition techniques as your production partner.

Opti-Forms can help you if your application requires a supplier of precision, rugged and economical reflector assemblies with specialty thin film coating capability.

Opti-Forms specializes in custom designed reflector geometries to meet specific customer requirements, although we have an extensive line of standard reflectors in a variety of geometries. Our standard series of electroformed reflectors include: parabolic, elliptical, off-axis, aconic and spherical.

Custom CA and VDIA dimensions, other than those listed in our standard series of reflectors, are easily accomplished by fabricating the prescribed process tooling at a nominal fee.

All of our standard series of reflectors are coated with electrodeposited bright rhodium. Custom vacuum or electrodesposited coatings are also available for specialized applications.

Custom Reflector Designs

Opti-Forms has extensive experience in radiant energy systems, electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems and enhanced spectral performance coatings. Opti-Forms can assist in seeking a cost-effective design for any reflector application whatever the challenge.

Electroforming can consistently replicate difficult to fabricate shapes from a single master tool, which significantly reduces per part costs. Production capabilities expand further with additional master tools. Electroforming provides both design and fabrication versatility from large (32 inch diameter) reflectors to very small (.045 inch) medical instrument tips.

The electroforming process is capable of producing exotic or complicated surface geometry at a substantial cost saving over other conventional manufacturing methods. Aspheric contours generated by computer designs as well as conic sections such as paraboloids, ellipsoids, hyperboloids and off-axis segments can be produced in volume with repeated accuracy. Traditional optical fabrication techniques cannot compete with this cost effective production process.


Opti-Forms has computer-aided design engineering facilities for 2D and 3D parametric component design for fast turn-around of new products and/or tooling. This CAD technology allows aconic surfaces to be generated, which maximize radiant energy system performance. Computer generated geometry is easily transformed into master tooling utilizing "in house" CNC machining technology.
