Ultra Violet Reflectivity

Optiforms manufactures many different thin film coatings. The coatings represented in these charts are just a small sample of the coatings that we can apply. Our optical thin film coatings can be specified based on performance at a specific wavelength and the performance of an optical thin film coating can be affected by the geometry of the part to be coated. Coating performance can be affected by the angle of incidence and the specific angle at which the coating is tested.

Aluminum MgF2

This coating is used where the ultraviolet reflectivity of aluminum is required. The magnesium fluoride overcoat retards oxidation and provides abrasion protection. The moderate cost is somewhat offset by the more sensitive care required in cleaning and maintaining the surface.
