Off-Axis Parabolic Reflectors An Off-axis Reflector or a Off-axis Mirror is a light control device based on a geometric curve that directs light to or from a focal point depending on use. An off axis parabolic has a focal point on one end and a parallel beam on the other. An off axis ellipse uses two focal points. It is "off axis" due to the fact that the reflection takes place outside the axis line of the geometric curve it is designed around.
